A Common Ancestry: How Delphi and C# Are More Alike Than You May Know

Tuesday, August 27
6AM San Francisco / 9AM New York / 2PM London / 3PM Milan
11AM San Francisco / 2PM New York / 5PM London

Delphi and C# are two leading development languages with many common features. In fact, they were even created by the same person! They share so many similarities that coding in Delphi is an easy transition for C# developers. There is one big difference though, Delphi can get you to the hottest mobile platforms on the planet: iOS and Android.

In this webinar, learn how you can employ your C# knowledge, but with Delphi, to reach these critical mobile platforms. You don’t have to start over with new, unfamiliar language features (like in Java or Objective-C) or settle for an option that doesn’t generate real native code (like Javascript). You already have the knowledge you need and we can show you how to take it to mobile.

From One Framework to Another: Leverage Your .NET Investments for iOS and Android Development

Wednesday, August 28
6AM San Francisco / 9AM New York / 2PM London / 3PM Milan
11AM San Francisco / 2PM New York / 5PM London

Just like Delphi and C# share a common lineage, so do the .NET framework and Embarcadero’s application frameworks. In fact, they share a critical common development paradigm: Property Method Event, or PME. Thanks to such similarities, .NET developers can easily leverage existing skills and knowledge and thanks to the extensibility of the frameworks .NET developers can easily leverage existing infrastructure (like ASP.Net).

Why would developers want to do that? So they can bring those investments into the future on mobile development projects focused on iOS and Android, which the Delphi FM Application Platform fully supports and .NET doesn’t. iOS and Android are the largest and hottest addressable mobile markets on the planet, and you need to be there. But, you don’t need to start over to make it happen. In this webinar, learn how you can you can use your current .NET knowledge to easily make the transition to the mobile future.

Webinar 3
Mano a Mano: A Survey of Mobile Development Options for .NET Developers

Thursday, August 29
6AM San Francisco / 9AM New York / 2PM London / 3PM Milan
11AM San Francisco / 2PM New York / 5PM London

In today’s fiercely competitive technology industry, developers have many options to help bring their visions to life. And while having choice is great, most of the popular options come with compromises. The reality is, scripted solutions don’t cut it, and in the markets that matter (i.e., mobile) native is taking the lead because it delivers apps with a better user experience.

However, developing native apps on each of the major platforms is cost prohibitive and impractical to manage and scale. Especially when you are an enterprise and have dozens of apps to develop and maintain. Additionally, developers want to keep their backend infrastructure in place, and design intelligently when dealing with these multiple mobile apps across multiple platforms.

In this webinar, we’ll show you how Delphi XE4 is the ideal solution to handle these problems and provides a superior solution compared to other options that promise similar benefits to .NET developers.

Seeing a product come to life is one of the most exciting moments for a Product Manager.

I am really excited about Delphi for Android, and the fact that you, our customers, will be able to build native apps for iOS and Android (and of course, Windows and Mac) all from one codebase.

I thought I would share with you some previews of the default native styling options that we will provide, which include the Android Holo Light and Android Holo Dark themes. In addition, you can also use custom styles with your Android apps.

In the screenshots below, you can see a variety of controls that are styled with either the light or the dark style. Both screenshots in the front show the app running on a Nexus 4 phone, and in the back, on a Nexus 7 tablet. On the Nexus 7 tablet, you can also see the native time picker which matches the theme of the running app (either dark or light).
